Thijs Stoffer has a background in strategic communications, political science and international relations, with over 25 years of successful management experience in leadership positions in national and international businesses, industries and not-for-profit organisations operating in diverse environments.
From 2008 to 2017, he was the CEO of ICREA (International Consortium of Real Estate Associations), a consortium of professional property associations and practitioners in five continents, dealing with four million properties each day. From 2018, he serves the organisation in the leadership role in Paris. From 2013, he also serves as the Chair of the Regulatory Board for the EMEA Region of the London based RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors); from 2015, he is also a member of the Global Regulatory Board of RICS, a body responsible for, and advising on the delivery of regulatory policy and strategy for the over 200,000 RICS members and firms worldwide.
Thijs is a member of the Board of Trustees and of the executive committee of the International Property Measurement Coalition, and a Trustee and a member of the International Ethics Coalition, both in the UK.
Also, he chairs the Board of the Kandersteg International Scout Centre in Switzerland, an activity and educational centre that hosts 12,000 young people annually from all over the world. He has held and still holds several Chair and committee/board positions with the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
He further works as a consultant to real estate related companies and organisations in Europe, the USA and Gulf countries. He is a frequent speaker at international conferences and is a judge for the OPP Awards for Excellence and the International Property Awards.
