UNCRC Day 2017

Today is the United Nations Universal Children’s Day, a day that for each of us can be an inspirational entry-point to advocate, promote and celebrate children's rights. At Keeping Children Safe we would like to join the chorus of voices speaking in defence of the rights of every single child in the world.

On this same day in 1959 the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, followed 30 years later by the Convention on the Rights of the Child. However, every day, in every country, children are abused, beaten, raped and more. Too often, the abuser is someone in an organisation that’s meant to help and protect children. An adult the child trusts.

We believe in the necessity to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide and improving children's welfare, and that enforcing tough International Child Safeguarding Standards, to protect children from exploitation and abuse, is key to achieve this goal.

By supporting 70+ member organisations and helping more than 4,000 governmental, civil society and for-profit organisations around the globe, our work has impacted the lives of around 130 million children, now better protected from harm.
