New webinar: Child Safeguarding in Health Programs

Date: 11th July 2018
Time: 12:00 - 13:00 GMT+1

CBM, a Keeping Children Safe’s associate member will share experiences and lessons learned from safeguarding in health programs. The presenters will share the inherent safeguarding risks and challenges as well as low-cost solutions to implementing child safeguarding measures within health services in the context of low and middle-income countries.

Learning points from the webinar include:

  • Inherent child safeguarding risks in health services (with special reference to children with, or at risk of, disability)
  • How resource constraints, contextual challenges and purely clinical lenses to health program management can make things worse
  • Low-cost and easily implementable risk mitigation strategies to ensure children and other vulnerable groups are safe in health centres and programs.

About the presenter: Jackie Olanya, Child Safeguarding Manager at CBM International

Jackie is a Social Worker and Social Policy specialist by training with experience in over 25 countries. Her professional practice started with child protection in emergencies and has since shifted to organisational safeguarding.
