As part of this webinar, KCS will share their experience in terms of strengthening safeguarding of children by donors and funding agencies. In the recent past, KCS had worked with donors such as DFAT, DFID, OAK foundation and Porticus foundation to mention a few.

Learning points from the webinar include:

  • Understand the rationale and international standards in child safeguarding
  • How and why safeguarding of children is important to donors
  • Relate the context of child safeguarding in relation to donor and funding agencies, through case experiences

About the presenter: Vijaya Baskar, Senior Child Safeguarding Adviser, Keeping Children Safe

Vijay is a Social Worker with 15+ years of progressive experience in the field of child rights and child protection. Prior to joining Keeping Children Safe, he worked as a Program Coordinator at Protect and Save the Children Association, in Malaysia. In this role, he advocated, both at national and regional level (South East Asia), on advancing child rights and improving child protection mechanisms. As part of Operation Thereva, he coordinated with and provided support to the UK National Crime Agency (CEOP) for implementing the community child safeguarding activities with the children and their families.
