Plan Burkina Faso - Child Protection in Emergencies Specialist for Malian Refugee Crisis

In an effort to provide routine and improve the physical, social and emotional wellbeing of children and young people in the face of the emergency, Plan Burkina Faso proposes to provide holistic education, child protection and WASH services for children and their families in Soum and Oudalan provinces in the North of Burkina.

Plan Burkina is seeking a Consultant to manage and provide technical support to child protection in emergencies project for refugees from Mali.  The project is for one year, but the consultant is required for an initial period of 3 months.  
This position is responsible for technical leadership and coordination of Plan’s emergency child protection response in Soum and Oudalan provinces in the north of Burkina Faso. The CPiE Specialist will support the resourcing, design, delivery, coordination, monitoring and reporting of CPiE response projects. S/he will co-ordinate closely with other Emergency Response team members and Plan staff, especially implementation management, education and WASH activities to ensure the integration of child protection. S/he will focus on building the technical capacity of Plan staff and local partners, and improve programme quality and effectiveness of the current response as well as any future recovery activities. The specialist will take a very active role in technical co-ordination, support and advocacy with the country specific child protection sub-clusters and other stakeholders and agencies relevant to the sector.

Keeping Children Safe Treasurer

A Treasurer is required to maintain an overview of Keeping Children Safe's finanical affairs and ensure its financial viability. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship. Have solid financial  qualifications and experience and ideally some experience of charity finance, fundraising and pension schemes. This is a voluntary governance role and the post will be required to attend four Board meetings a year (most of which will be in the UK, travel costs are provided).     Keeping Children Safe provides standards and guidance to international development and humanitarian organisations to help them prevent the risk of abuse and exploitation of the children they work with.
