focal points

All organisations should have a designated person who is responsible for making sure that the child safeguarding policy is implemented and followed. This role should reflect the nature and structure of the organisation and the person should have enough support to carry out the role. At each appropriate level or setting there should be a named person/s who people can talk to about child safeguarding matters. Everyone should know how to contact them. Other people in the organisation can then go to them if they have concerns about child safeguarding or abuse.
